Obtaining pure colors

Obtaining pure colors.

A positive effect on the quality of color reproduction is exerted by the use of a sunshield, and not only when taking pictures against the light, but not at all then, when side light may fall on the lens, np. in landscapes with cloudy skies, near the white walls, interior photos, etc. Weak side light is generally out of the question for black and white photos, because a slight decrease in contrast is imperceptible. With color photos, its influence becomes completely visible, because it causes graying of all colors. So using a sunshade never hurts, on the contrary, it can very often bring many benefits. Decreasing color saturation is a serious enemy of color photography, and not enough attention is paid to them. Improved lenses with anti-reflection layers bring only minor benefits to black and white photography in terms of increased resolving power and reduced exposure time, while in color photography they play an important role. By reducing or completely removing reflections on the lens surfaces, graying of colors on the resulting negative can be significantly prevented. Therefore, lenses having a large number of lenses with surfaces not covered with anti-reflection layers affect the quality of color photos very negatively..

Strong deterioration of color saturation may also occur during zooming, unless we carefully guard against extraneous light. Unfortunately, companies producing photographic equipment do not always respect the protection of the enlarger against the escaping of unwanted light from places, where is the negative. In these cases, the leaky places of the device should be covered with a black cloth. You should also pay attention, that the negative is completely covered by a mask or other device, and not only partially, and that the transparent edge of the negative is not projected onto the paper at the same time. White walls near enlargement paper should also be avoided, because the light falling on the image reflects off the wall and returns as diffused. Ulepszone obiektywy z warstwą przeciwodblaskową są przy wykonywaniu barwnych powiększeń równie korzystne jak przy wykonywaniu samych zdjęć.
