Portrait photos

Portrait photos.

After these long deliberations, we finally want to return to the pictures. A novice amateur would naturally like to start color photography with photos of their loved ones, relatives and friends, but he didn't want to make fun of it. The quality of facial color reproduction is always received very critically. Light colors are very easily influenced by the colors of the environment, which no one pays much attention to, because he usually looks at everything rather cursorily. Everyone will pay attention to it, which is easily noticeable, np. that the face in the shade of a heavily leafy tree or in the forest at all has a greenish tint.

The human face receives strong reflections, taking on color, etc. next to brick walls, strongly illuminated by sunlight, it takes on a red tint on one side. Color rays can have a serious effect, reflected from clothing to parts of the neck or low-slanted parts of the face. So if a careful photographer considers all these possibilities and sets his "victim" in the neutral shade of the wall of the house, because in the sun there would be too strong darkening of the face, this in the received image can discover, that the face is unnaturally pale or even bluish. In this case, the blue sky is to blame, because it also radiates, naturally much weaker than the sun, however yes, that when it is cloudless or slightly covered with clouds, effortlessly produces bluish tints in all shadows of the image.

Formerly an avid photographer, with a more lively temperament, he mocked and sneered at the painter, who was just painting the shadows of his face slightly blue or slightly green. Under the influence of his passions, the photographer thought about the natural reproduction of objects, but today, surprised, he has to say, that it is precisely in the conditions of the surrounding world that everything is reproduced in this way.

We've already been able to tell, that we will get similar results then, if we are going to use two types of photosensitive materials. On reversible materials we will get all the mentioned, especially harmful color deviations, especially in portrait photos. Even minor color nuances will be noted in the photo, also causing changes in color saturation. Taking into account, that colored reversible films are adapted to sunlight, portrait photos as well as other photos with a cloudy sky must appear more or less bluish in them, if we do not apply the appropriate filters.

In the case of negative material, it is possible to make fundamental changes during copying and to compensate for color deviations. However, the nature of the colors can only be shifted in a certain direction. For example, if we equalize. greenish face and it will be correspondingly fleshier, then also the greenery of the surroundings will become more brown or more black, which should always be considered a bug. The situation is naturally more difficult in cases, when only one half of the face is incorrectly color-exposed.
